“Rebel” – Bad Film in the Career of Both Prabhas and Lawrence
Hyderabad: Rebel was one of the most awaited movies of the year but after getting released became the one of the most disgusting movies Tollywood ever had. The film failed to make viewers sit in their seats at least an hour.
Lawrence has once again proved that he can make absolute nonsense with his junky efforts. The film is a complete jargon resulted by the routine hangover of Lawrence. It neither had good music nor appreciable comedy.
Even the comedy king Brahmanandam failed produce some laughter by the filthy and sleazy choreography scenes infused in the film. The picturization of gangster scenes seem like adopted from his earlier works “Don”. The link between Dons and their over performed emotions seems irrelevant and makes the audience get extremely irritated.
There is no title song in the film but the heroine Tamannah had one solo song which was not at all needed. Tamannah is daughter of a Don who works under the main villain whom the hero wanted to kill. As usual hero puts his glamorous efforts to flirt heroine in order to get information of the villain. Krishnamraju had more dialogues than Prabhas in the film.
Deeksha Seth had a minor role of an orphan girl in the flash back. Lawrence included so many “kanchanas” in a fight scene prior to which hero seems like carbon copy of “Rama” of “Aparichitudu”. There is no reason for Krishnamraju’s will to expect his son to be a timid fellow with interest in classical music.
Out of all Prabhas initially enquires whether Stephen and Roberts are one or two. In the flashback Pradeeprawat shouts that he had arranged a killer and hero’s uncle to kill Hero’s father before going to die.
The look and style of Prabhas is shown awesome and thus it may seem entertaining somewhat to the serious fans of Prabhas. But for those who are not fans of Prabhas, the film would be a terrible memory which sucks life out of them.
