BMW 3 Series GT Spied – 320D and 330D to be launched at Delhi Auto Expo 2014, price expected as Rs. 45-50 lakhs
The Bavarian luxury car maker, BMW is all set up for the launch of new member of the 3 series family sedans and this time the manufacturer is looking forward to introduce a high performer. A test mule of the upcoming model of BMW has been spotted on Indian roads and it is confirmed as the new 3 Series GT sedan.
This is the second time that the manufacturer is launching a GT variant in the Indian market and the former was a 5 Series GT sedan. The new 3 Series GT sedan has been unveiled officially for the first time at this year’s Geneva Motor Show held in the month of March and the Indian launch is still pending even after 6 months from the global launch. The respective test mule was spotted with heavy camouflage and it seems to be under testing phase currently. The enthusiasts have uploaded the spy images over web which are making a lot of buzz all over India.
The new 3 Series GT sedan is comparatively larger than that of the base variant sedan and it can be seen clearly from the respective spy images. The length of the 3 Series GT sedan is around 200 mm more than the former version whereas width is 19 mm more and height is 79 mm more. The overall wheelbase of the model is also larger than former by around 110 mm. The boot space of the model is also bigger and the passengers will feel much comfortable by sitting in the new 3 Series GT. Rear seats can be folded as and when required which will create additional boot space of 1600 liters.
BMW is going to offer two variants of the new 3 Series GT and the variants are going to be dubbed as 320 d and 330 d. 320D is going to be equipped with a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder engine whereas the 330 D is going to be powered with a 3.0 liter 6 cylinder engine. Both the variants are going to be rear wheel drive variants and both will come with an 8 speed ZF automatic transmission gear box. Most probably, BMW India will launch the new 3 Series GT sedan at the upcoming Delhi Auto Expo which will be held in the month of February, 2014 and the price of the model is expected to be in the range of Rs. 45 – 50 lakhs only.
