Choose the best Scooter 2013 – Honda Activa VS Piaggio Vespa VX

Design and Features:
Piaggio has grabbed the attention of bike lovers by introducing the Vespa scooter refining the retro look of the former Vespa scooter. The design is very attractive and the weight of the model is also not heavy as the vehicle looks. Honda Activa has its own way of styling and the model has been received extremely well by the Indian buyers since its launch. Comparatively, Piaggio Vespa is slightly larger than Honda Activa and the wheel base as well as the ground clearance of Vespa is more than that of Activa. The capacity of fuel tank in Piaggio is 7 litres whereas the fuel tank capacity of Activa is just 5.3 litres only.
Engine and Performance:
Honda Activa comes fitted with a 109 CC air cooled 4 stroke SI engine that can generate 8.1 PS at the peak along with 8.74 Nm of torque. Piaggio has powered the new Vespa with a 125 CC 3 Valve engine that generates 10.6 PS at the peak along with 10.6 Nm of torque. The performance of both the models is almost same but Piaggio Vespa is slightly ahead in accelerating to higher speeds due to higher displacement of engine.
Mileage and Price:
Honda Activa delivers mileage of around 60 kmpl on a whole whereas Piaggio too claims that Vespa will assure mileage of around 60 kmpl. Honda is offering the new Activa for Rs. 44200 only whereas the new Piaggio Vespa is offered for price around Rs. 59996.
