Google has just launched the Nexus 5 in India for a price of Rs 28,999 and Rs 32,999 and it will be going up against the Samsung Galaxy S4 which retails for a similar amount and will be its main rival. Its pure Android goodness vs Samsung’s Touchwiz. Let us which one of them emerges a better one. Here’s a comparison of the two.
Google has just announced the launch of its Nexus 5 phablet in the Indian market. People who were looking forward for this have started comparing the features with the rest in the class. Here we present the comparison between Nexus 5 and Samsung’s Galaxy S4 tab.
Display-Nexus 5 has a4.95-inch (1080 x 1920 pixels) 445 ppi full true HD IPS capacitive touchscreen while Samsung Galaxy S 4 has a little bigger, 5 inch OLED, Super AMOLED touchscreeen. Both the displays are protected with Gorilla Glass 3 technology. So, S4 wins this battle by a whisker.
Processing-With2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and 2GB RAM, Nexus 5 is an easy winner over S4 which has 1.9GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor.
Operating System-Both run on Android operating systems but Nexus 5 has got the latest Android Kitkat 4 as compared to 4.3 Jelly Bean on S4. However, you will soon find OS updates for S4 as well. Hence, scores are equal on this front.
Camera-Nexus offers you a mere8 MP primary camera and 1.3 MP secondary camera while on S4, you will find 13-megapixel shooter on the backside and 2 MP camera on the front.Needless to say who is the winner on this count.
Memory-Nexus5 has16 and 32 GB internal memory variant with no card slot for further expansion. As compared to this, S4 provides 16, 32 and 64 GB internal memory variants with card slot for further expansion up to 64 GB.
Battery-Samsung wins this deal with its 2,600mAh battery as compared to the 2,300 mAh offered on Nexus 5.
Price-Nexus5 ‘s 16 and 32 GB variants are priced at Rs 28,999 and Rs 32,999. On the other hand, S4’s 16GB variant is priced at Rs 34,000.
Verdict-S4 can easily beat Nexus on most fronts including price. Hence, it should not be a tough choice.
