Fulbright Scholarships for Pursuing Higher Education in America: USIEF fellowships

Fulbright scholarships are provided for candidates who want to pursue their higher education in America. Fulbright scholarships are specially meant for Indian students. These are given for a limited period of time depending on the course. Candidates can apply for these scholarships for education, research, teaching and professional development.

New Delhi: Scholarships are of great help to the students who want to pursue their higher education in America. Few scholarships in America are specially given to Indians. Scholarships provided by United States – India Education Foundation are important among these. Fulbright scholarships are given to Indian students for education, research, teaching and professional development.

Fulbright-Nehru Doctoral and Professional Research Fellowships: These are pre doctoral level research fellowships. These are provided for maximum period of nine months. Candidates who are registered in Indian educational institutions for PhD are eligible to apply. They also should have sufficient work experience.

Fulbright-Nehru post doctoral research fellowships: these are given for a maximum period of ten months. Indian candidates who completed PhD are eligible for these scholarships. They should have completed the PhD at least four years prior to submitting their application. These scholarships are meant for increasing the research skills in the branch of their interest.

Fulbright-Nehru Senior Research Fellowships: These are issued to faculty, researchers and professionals working in almost all disciplines. Candidates should have completed PhD or publishing work or equivalent. These are given for a period of eight months.

Fulbright-Nehru visiting lecture fellowships: This is also equivalent to other scholarships. These are provided for four months. In the current affairs, these scholarships are given for agricultural sciences, economics, education, energy, sustainable development and climate change, environment, international relations, management and leadership development, media and communication, public administration, public health, science and technology.

Fulbright-Nehru Masters Fellowships for Leadership Development: This fellowship is given for candidates who have leadership qualities. Eligibility is that the candidate should have completed a course equivalent to bachelor’s degree in America. The applicant should have three ear professional or work experience. Selected candidates can pursue master course in American universities and colleges in arts and cultural management, business administration, communication studies, conflict resolution, economics, environment, public administration, urban and regional planning and women studies.

Fulbright-Nehru environmental leadership program: this program is meant for middle level professionals in public, private organizations and NGOs in India. This is given for three months to pursue studies in environmental information, systems reporting, environmental education, environmental policy, regulations and law, environmental sciences and technology and environmental management.

Fulbright Teacher Exchange program: School teachers of sixth to twelfth class working in India are eligible for this program. This is a one semester duration exchange program with American teachers in English, Mathematics and Sciences.

Fulbright-Nehru International Education Administrators Seminars: This is meant for senior level administrators in colleges and universities in India. They should have at least two year in management and international program development.

Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Program: candidates who completed post graduation course in English and are in the age group of 20-19 year are eligible for this program. Selected candidates have to teach Hindi and Urdu in selected American campuses.
