2015 MINI ‘S’ hatch back spotted without Camo – Indian version with 2.0L diesel to be launched by end of 2014?
The next gen MINI hatch back has been spotted a number of times already since the manufacturer has made announcement about the project. But not even a single snap of the test mule without much camouflage was captured so far and thus most of its features and specifications remained unrevealed so far. Finally, an enthusiast has managed to capture a test mule of the 5 door hatch back with no camouflage at all on its body. A set of respective images have been uploaded over web and have gone viral within few hours.
The basic alignment of the upcoming 5 door MINI hatch back is somewhat interesting to the world and most of car lovers are waiting eagerly for the model. The upcoming hatch back will have two doors at the front and two small doors on the rear which will extend up to the rear arches, as per the information. This model has been code named as F55 and the manufacturer has not revealed about how the model is going to be dubbed into the market as. The smaller rear doors make the room very tighter and it is reported to be meant for kids.
However, the leg room of the model is said to be larger by around 5 cm when compared with the former variants revealed globally. Sources revealed that the respective test mule spotted now is ‘S’ model hatch back. We can expect the upcoming MINI 2015 S hatch back to get powered with a 2.0 litre 4 cylinder engine that is capable of generating around 189 bhp at the peak along with 280 NM of torque. The major changes that will separate the S model from other version hatch backs will include revised roof spoiler, dual exhaust pipes on the rear and the ‘S’ badge.
A three door hatch back has also been spotted on Indian roads while testing in the past but as per experts, the model can entertain very few Indian buyers. The upcoming 5 door hatch back could be hot favourite in India in case if it gets powered with a diesel engine. European launch of this upcoming hatch back is going to be in the second half of this year and Indian launch could get scheduled by end of the year most probably.
