GATE 2014: Changes, Exam Pattern, Syllabus, Examination Dates, Admit Card Download
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all India examination administered and conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institutes of Technology. GATE is conducted via the constitution of eight zones.
New Delhi: GATE 2014 Examination Date will held from 01-02-2014 to 02-03-2014. Lets look on the various aspects of GATE 2014, examination:
Changes in GATE 2014:
A new paper has been introduced in GATE 2014, “Ecology and Evolution”.
All the 22 paper’s examination will be a Online Computer Based Test.
Application Fees and Process has been revised for GATE 2014.
No Admit card will be sent to candidates appearing for GATE 2014, you have to download.
The Question paper of GATE 2014 will be multiple choice as well as numerical answer type.
GATE 2014 Examination Pattern:
The GATE examination paper will contain 65 questionswith a total of 100 marks. A maximum of 3 hours will be given to the students for completing the paper. The types of question will in two different type as shown below
1. MCQ ( Multiple Choice Question ):Will be having 1 or 2 marks each in all of the papers and sections. These questions will be of objective nature, and will have 4 choices of answers, out of which the candidate has to mark the correct answer(s).
2. Numerical Answer Questions: Will be having 1 or 2 marks each in all of the papers and sections. Answers for this questions will be a real number which has to be entered by the candidate using the virtual keypad. There will be no choice for the candidates for these questions.
Marking Scheme: Multiple-choice questions having 1 marks , 1/3 marks will be deducted for a wrong answer. Similarly for the multiple-choice questions having 2-marks , 2/3 marks will be deducted for a wrong answer. Numerical answer type questions will not have negative marking in it.

For example let the code be: ME601006112, then look at the fifth and the sixth digits, put them together, i.e., 06 indicates that the candidate’s examination is scheduled in Session 05 which can be known from the below chart!!
