Lenovo at CES 2014: Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 2 Hybrid Unveiled
Lenovo’s first IdeaPad Yoga laptop that came out last year was in fact an innovation in the light of Apple Macbook Air in the new Windows 8 hybrid category. In quick succession it is all set to launch its latest IdeaPad Yoga 2 hybrid at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), 2014.
Las Vegas: The IdeaPad Yoga 2 is more affordable than the earlier version, Yoga 2 pro. In fact it costs nearly just half the price. The 11-inch version is priced at about Rs 33,000 ($529) while the 13-inch version costs about Rs 66,000 ($999). The 11-inch version will be available from late January while the 13-inch model will be available from February. The 11-inch model of IdeaPad Yoga 2 weighs around 2.9 pounds while it is 0.67 inches thick. A quad-core Intel Pentium CPU and a 500 GB hard drive are its other features.
The other model with 13-inch display weighs 3.5 pounds and is slightly thicker than the 11-inch model. But for this model, the price could be lower because for a mere $100 price reduction from the Yoga 2 Pro. The latter boasts of a resolution of 3200 x 1800 pixels, whereas the 13-inch model of IdeaPad Yoga 2 hybrid has a resolution of only 1920 x 1080. However, it is worth it. This factor could put the customers in a quandary. But the difference in price might do the trick. The 13-inch model also includes a backlit keyboard. It has a fourth-generation Intel Core i5 processor. An additional feature is a solid state hybrid drive (SSHD) storage that might brighten its prospects.
If one overlooks the resolution and other specifications of the 13-inch model the reduced price is an attraction one cannot easily miss. As Lenovo has already made its mark in the world markets, it can hardly be written off. In fact, one can expect it’s IdeaPad Yoga 2 to be a cake walk. All eyes are now on CES 2014 where these products would be displayed.
