Moto G vs. Gionee Elife E5: Which one’s a better buy for Rs 15,000

Moto G will go on sale in India on February 5 for about Rs 15,000 whereas we have just had the Elife E5 go on sale for Rs 15,799. Both of them will be battling it out against each other and we compare the two of them for you.

New Delhi: Motorola and Gionee are two smartphone giants that have created a successful market in India. Their handsets have been received well by the buyers thanks to their brilliant features and excellent latest technology. Many of their devices compete with each other. The Elife E5 has just gone on sale for Rs 15,799 and the Moto G is about to go on sale for Rs 15,000.

So, here is a comparative look of features and specifications between Motorola’s Moto G and Gionee’s Elife E5 devices:

Display: The Moto G smartphone sports a capacitive touch display of 4.5 inches while Gionee Elife E5 features a capacitive touch display of 4.8 inches. Both the handsets provide a display resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.

Processor: Moto G has been equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad core processor of 1.2 Giga Hertz where as Elife E5 comes loaded with MediaTek MT6589T quad core processor of 1.5 Giga Hertz.

Software: Moto G runs on Android 4.3 OS where as Elife E5 functions on Android 4.2.1 version.

Memory: Both the smartphones provide a RAM of 1 GB and inbuilt storage space of 16 GB.

Camera: Moto G comes with a primary camera of 5 mega pixels with LED flash and a secondary camera of 1.3 mega pixels. On the other hand, Elife E5 comes with a primary camera of 8 mega pixels with LED flash and a secondary camera of 5 mega pixels.

Connectivity Features: The connectivity features offered by both the devices are Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, micro USB and 3G.

Other Features: Both the smartphones feature FM Radio, a 3.5 mm audio jack, magnetometer and proximity sensor. Moto G also offers accelerometer while Elife E5 provides ambient light sensor.

Battery: Moto G works on a battery of 2070 mAh while Elife E5 works on a battery of 2000 mAh.

Our Take: After considering the two smartphones, my verdict is in favor of Gionee Elife E5 as it comes with a slightly bigger display, faster processor and better rear and front facing cameras.
