Nokia Lumia 525 vs HTC 8S: Which is a better Windows Phone?
Nokia Lumia 525 is fast gaining popularity and sells for about Rs 10,000 and the HTC 8S which has been around for a while has had its price dropped within a similar range. Here’s a comparative look at both the devices
New Delhi: Finland based smartphone giant Nokia and Taiwan based HTC are two smartphone makers that are known for their quality products. Lately, many new Nokia and HTC smartphones are entering the market. We guess it is right to compare a few of their devices to determine the best choices. Nokia has the Lumia 525 to cater to the budget segment whereas HTC has the 8S to do so. Both of them are similar yet different and cost almost the the same at about Rs 10,000. Here is a comparative look at the features of Nokia Lumia 525 and HTC 8S smartphones:
Display: Both the smartphones feature a capacitive multi touch display of 4 inches that offer a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels.
Processor: Lumia 525 comes with Qualcomm MSM8227 dual core processor of 1 GHz and HTC 8S has been powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Krait dual processor of 1 GHz.
Software: Lumia 525 runs on Windows Phone 8 Black platform. HTC 8S runs on Windows Phone 8 and can be upgraded to WP8 Amber.
Memory: Lumia 525 offers a RAM of 1 GB, internal memory of 8 GB and expandable memory of up to 64 GB. On the other hand, HTC 8S carries a RAM of 512 MB, internal memory of 4 GB and up to 32 GB expandable memory.
Camera: Both the smartphones carry a rear camera of 5 mega pixels and no front facing camera.
Connectivity Features: Both the smartphones offer connectivity features, such as Bluetooth, GPRS, GPS, micro USB, Wi-Fi, 2G and 3G

Battery: Lumia 525 works on a battery of 1430 mAh while HTC 8S works on a battery of 1700 mAh.
Our Take: After considering the features and specifications of the two smartphones, we can see that no one emerges as a clear won. Lumia 525 and HTC 8S are almost similar. Resultantly, they may cut into each others sales. Nonetheless, though HTC 8S comes with a slightly better battery, Nokia Lumia 525’s more storage space may win more customers.
