Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 vs Nokia Lumia 1320: Which one’s better?

The Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 has just gone up for sale for Rs 23,990 and the same has happened for the Nokia Lumia 1320 which has also gone on sale for Rs 23,999. Both these devices are bound to clash seeing the fact that they are priced similarly and are budget phablets from both the companies.

t has been more than 4 months since Nokia Lumia 1320 was launched. It still continues to be a hot pick in the mid range smartphone segment. Here we are presenting a contrast of this smartphone against newly launched Samsung Galaxy Grand 2. Let’s see how these two fare our-

Display-Lumia 1320 has 6-inch display with 720p resolution and 245ppi density. On the other hand, Grand 2 has 5.25-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixel resolution, and pixel density of up to 280 ppi. This makes Lumia 1320 far better on display front.

Processor, Chipset and RAM-Lumia1320 has got old 1.7GHz dual-core Snapdragon 400 processor with 1GB of RAM. Yet, Grand 2 lags behind with its 1.2GHz Quad Core Snapdragon 400 Processor with 1.5 GB RAM.

Camera-Lumia 1320 has got a meager 5-megapixel camera and VGA front-facing camera. Galaxy Grand 2 beats this marginally with its 8-megapixel rear and 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera.

Memory-Lumia1320offers8GB onboard storage, expandable up to 64GB via microSD card slot. Grand 2 is currently available with 8 GB variant with similar memory expansion feature.

Operating System- Galaxy Grand 2 runs Android 4.3 while Lumia 1320 has got the latest Windows Phone 8 OS along with GDR3 update.

Connectivity-Lumia 1320 has 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS and GLONASS features to connect. Grand 2 offers 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS and GLONAAS. Hence, both are same except for the Bluetooth in Grand 2.

Battery-Lumia 1320 has superpower 3400mAh battery which is far superior to2,600mAh provided with Galaxy Grand 2.

Price-Nokia Lumia 1320 is available for Rs23,999 while for Samsung Galaxy Grand 2, you may have to pay Rs 23,990 so the price advantage is not there with either of them.

Our View-We recommend you tobuy Lumia 1320 for larger display, powerful battery and better processor. Moreover Windows Phone 8 indeed is getting all the applications of Android so it makes sense to try a new OS.
