Samsung Galaxy S4 And S4 Mini Black Editions Announced
Samsung has announced two onyx-black variants of its Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S4 Mini smartphones and has named them unimaginatively ‘Black Edition’.The new smartphones are exact equivalent of their regular counterparts except for the black faux leather back cover.
Beijing: It looks like Samsung will soon launch a new variant of the company’s most popular Galaxy S4 smartphone. However, the new one, refers to the looks this time. The Samsung website from Russia has already listed the new black edition on its home page. Also the Mini variant of the Galaxy S4 Black Edition has been listed on the site.

Both the new Black Edition smartphones come with a faux leather back panel which was earlier seen from Galaxy Note 3. It is reportedly said that the Galaxy S4 Black Edition will hit Russia (and presumably other markets) in February this year at the price of RUB 23,000 (approx. Rs. 41,349). While the Galaxy S4 mini Black Edition will be RUB 16,000 (approx. Rs. 28,809).
As far as the specs are concerned, the Galaxy S4 Black Edition is based on the I9505 Galaxy S4, which features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 SoC with a 1.9 GHz quad-core Krait 300 CPU and an Adreno 320 GPU. Other hardware details are the same, and include a 5-inch full-HD screen, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage, 13 MP camera, Wi-Fi, LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, DLNA and a 2,600 mAh battery along with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
The Galaxy S4 mini Black Edition similarly shares the same hardware features of the Galaxy S4 mini. It comes with a 4.3-inch qHD screen. It is 1.7 GHz dual-core Snapdragon 400 coupled with 1.5 GB RAM. It comes with an 8GB internal storage capacity and an 8 MP camera, micro-SD slot and a 1,900 mAh battery.
In other Samsung release news, the company introduced several new La Fleur editions. These include new versions of the Galaxy Fame Lite, Galaxy Trend, and Galaxy Core. In Poland the company unveiled the Galaxy Note 3 Neo, a device that offers S Pen input and phablet dimensions with specs that go a bit easier on the wallet. Two versions of that device — 3G and LTE — will be available. Both include a 5.5-inch 720p display, 2GB RAM, and an 8MP camera. The 3G version sports quad-core processing while the LTE edition gets hexa-core silicon. The Note 3 Neo will see a global launch next month.
