Congress Leaders Have Their Relatives In Opposition Party
The credibility of congress is in deep trouble. The latest incident of no confidence on congress is shown by none other than the step brother of Prime Minster.
New Delhi: The credibility of the congress is eroding very fast. The top leaders are finding their close relatives in opposition.
The 10 year mis-rule by UPA gave congress a confirmation that it can’t come to power, unless there is a miracle (which congress has been to do as seen in the past 65 years of independent India). The leaders are not fighting the present elections with fear of defeat. For many seats congress has not been able to find suitable candidates to contest. In many places, the contestants are withdrawing their nominations.
Many congress leaders (including many cabinet ministers) from AP defected to other parties in view of AP split.
P Chidambaram (union finance minister from Sivaganga constituency in Tamilnadu) refused to contest the election in the present election. As a face saving measure, he suggested the same seat to be given to his son Karthi Chidambaram.
Relatives of congress leaders are finding themselves comfortable in opposition parties like BJP etc.
See the brother of Chiranjeevi (in charge of AP campaign committee) Pawan Kalyan. Defying the terms of Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan started his own political party under the name Jana Sena Party JSP. He is actively involved campaigning for the BJP TDP alliance in the state of AP. Pawan Kalyan is also campaigning against KCR in Telangana region.
Another relative of Chiranjeevi Allu Arjun is supporting the candidature of his father in law (on TRS ticket in Ranga Reddy district) and Allu Arjun is scheduled to conduct the required campaigning for him.
Now the latest congress strength supporting opposition is none other than the step brother of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Mr. Daljeet Singh Kohli. Mr. Daljeet on 25th April joined BJP in Punjab in the presence of BJP PM Candidate Narendra Modi. Congress is giving face-saving statements that Mr. Daljeet is less known and his joining BJP would have little effect on the image of the congress party.
Despite congress’ bold statement to the contrary, congress seem to be much worried about the defections as well. Reports are abuzz in the press and media that the congress did seek the help of Intelligence Bureau (IB) to track and report the possible defectors from the ruling party.
