EdCET 2014 Advanced to May 30 from June 2: Last Date of Online Applications is April 24 Without Late Fee
EDCET 2014 written exam is going to be conducted on May 30. It was earlier scheduled to be conducted on June 2 but June 2 is appointed day for Telangana and residual Andhra Pradesh and thus the exam is preponed to June 2. This was announced by higher education council official Venu Gopala Reddy.
Hyderabad: Education Common Entrance Test 2014 is conducted for selecting candidates for admission into B.Ed course in the institutes located all over Andhra Pradesh. The date is now advanced and all the candidates are requested to keep the new date in mind. The written test is going to be held in 42 centres across the state. Answer key of the exam would be released on June 5th and objections will be received till June 12.
The decision to advance the written test of EdCET 2014 was taken in a meeting of EdCET 2014 committee. A press note was issued to this effect by convenor N. Venkata Rao. Other members who attended the meeting include Venugopala Reddy, Chairman, AP State council of Higher Education, Vice chancellor of AU, GSN Raju, Chairman of EdCET Committee and others.
Applications for EdCET 2014 are accepted only online. Applications are to be submitted before April 24 without any penalty. These will also be accepted till April 30 with a late fee of Rs. 500. Candidates can log on to www.apedcet.org to submit the application. Other details such as examination patter, eligibility, syllabus are also available on the website. Examination fee is Rs. 150 which can be paid at any eSeva or AP Online centres using credit or debit cards.
Number of applications received for EdCET 2014 till now is 1,02,294. There are a total of 66,730 seats available in Andhra Pradesh. There are 618 BEd colleges across the state. Number of management quota seats are 16,680.
Hall tickets of EdCET 2014 will be available from 19th May. Results of the exam are likely to be announced on June 26. Qualifying marks for candidates other than SC and ST candidates are 37 out of total marks. There are no minimum qualifying marks for SC/ST candidates.
