Punjab Defeats Hyderabad in IPL 7: Punjab Successfully Chases 205 Runs Target
There is no doubt about the power of batting line-up of Punjab team. Bowling department of Hyderabad team is the best. Yesterday’s league of IPL 7 was a match between Punjab’s batting and Hyderabad’s bowling in which the Punjab batsmen won.
Hyderabad: Young cricketers of Kings XI Punjab team Saho and Vohra played sensational innings. 86 runs were scored by the end of power-play. Maxwell and Bailey finished the remaining and the big target of 205 runs set by Hyderabad team looked small before the Punjab team.
Punjab team is continuing its winning streak in IPL seven. The team defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad on its native ground by six wickets. The team almost confirmed Play-off berth.
Sunrisers were asked to bat first. They scored 205 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the specified 20 overs. Ojha scored unbeatable 79 by facing 36 balls and his score included four fours and seven sixes. Sikhar Dhawan scored 45 in 37 balls and Warner’s score was 44 in 23 balls. Later Punjab team successfully chased the target in just 18.4 overs by losing 4 wickets. Saha was the top scorer for Punjab team. He scored 54 in 26 balls that included eight boundaries and two sizes. Vohra scored 47 in 20 balls and Maxwell scored 43 in 22 balls. Bailey remained not out on 35 by facing 19 balls.
Openers Finch and Dhawan gave good start to Sunrisers team. By the end of power play the team’s score was 55 runs. Openers added 65 runs to the first wicket. Ojha played a crucial innings. Along with Warner, he competed to hit sixes and fours. Both the batsmen added 81 runs in just 42 balls. Ojha remained not out till the end of the innings. In the last six overs, the team made 94 runs.
Punjab lost the quick wickets in the beginning of the innings itself. Vohra and Saha’s destructive batting resulted in Punjab team scoring 86 runs by the end of power play. Saha and Vohra added 91 runs in just 41 balls. Punjab team reached the 100 runs mark in 7.3 overs. In 11th over, Maxwell escaped losing his wicket. Maxwell however returned to the pavilion when the team needed 47 runs. Miller and Bailey ended the game. In 18th over, Bailey hit two fours and two sixes.
