YS Jagan’s Meeting With Modi: Secret Agenda
The YSRCP chief YS Jagan met the PM designate Narendra Modi at Delhi with a delegation of the elected MPs from the AP state. The purpose of the meeting is inviting criticism from several circles.
New Delhi: YS Jagan’s YSRCP tried its best to gain power in AP state assembly. Despite the numerous efforts by the party including widespread distribution of money, liquor, the party could not get the required majority. The party ended with 62 MLA (out of total 175 MLAs) in the state, whereas the MPs from the party stood at 8 against the total of 25 MPs in the state.
During the high voltage campaign, Jagan repeatedly projected himself as the CM for the AP state (post split) and he chalked out the agenda for his new government. During the campaign, he also mentioned that his party would be ready to work with any party other than BJP. He even made it clear that despite the hardships caused by congress high command (read Sonia) he is ready to work with congress.
Despite all the efforts, the people of Seemandhra preferred TDP and its alliance partner BJP. The TDP BJP alliance got comfortable majority to form the government.
Jagan is already facing many cases from CBI where charge sheets have already been filed and investigations are at advanced stage. As per the ruling of Supreme Court of India, the cases against peoples’ representatives need to be finalized (after completing the trial and argument) within one year period. During the public meetings Modi also confirmed that his government would adhere to the directive of Supreme Court and ensure that the decisions in cases involving peoples ‘ representatives would get finalized well within the stipulated period.
As per the above rule, Jagan’s cases also need to be taken on priority and there are more than 10 charge sheets against Jagan. If Jagan is convicted in at least one of the charge sheets his political career would be finished. Already the Enforcement Directorate attached assets belonging Jagan’s group companies worth more than Rs.1000 crores.
In absence of Jagan (if he is sent back to jail in those cases) his party YSRCP is most vulnerable the continuance of the party is a big question mark.
Under these circumstance, it is believed and reported that Jagan (without invitation from Modi) tookYSRCP MP’s to Delhi and had a meeting with Modi. Though Jagan declared that he met Modi to extend YSRCP’s support (issue based) to Modi government, the media is abuzz that Jagan’s meeting with Modi has only one point agenda i.e, the criminal cases against Jagan. As it is the BJP has its own strength sufficient to form the government and as such the support of YSRCP is treated as a big joke in the political circles.
