Mercedes Benz Teased 2015 CLS Coupe – 3.0L V6 with Revolutionary LED MULTI BEAM headlights

Mercedes Benz has revealed a teaser image of the upcoming 2015 CLS Coupe which is making a lot of buzz over web from the past few days. The respective teaser image shows the front fascia of the coupe and nothing else. The LED Multi Beam lights on the front fascia can attract majority of the people around the world as they are used for the first time ever. Apart from the Multi Beam technology, the new look of the front grille and bumper is also mesmerizing.

The new Multi Beam LED head lights comes with four main high beam modules each of which consists of 24 LEDs chips. Each and every LED chip is capable of emitting high resolution lighting and each of these LEDs can be controlled independently. A camera comes located on the back side of the wind screen which supplies information about the lighting outside the vehicle. The respective information is fed to the system instantaneously and continuously. It is informed that the respective camera sends information to the Multi Beam system about 100 times every second.

The Multi Beam LED system calculates the luminosity of the light needed at any particular instance of time and the same will be sent to the respective four main modules in head lights. Mercedes Benz CLS 2015 also offers ‘anticipatory camera based active light function’ that works with the help of an additional module that comes mated with the main module in the head light. As per the information, the Multi Beam LEDs in the upcoming CLS coupe has a range of more than 0.3 miles. The respective lighting system also comes mated with integrated navigation system that decides the lighting needed at a particular place before reaching the respective place.

Mr. Thomas Weber, A Member of the Daimler Board of Management has stated in connection with the brand new Multi Beam LED technology in Mercedes Benz CLS 2015 “The first LED head lamps with all the adaptive functions of the Intelligent Light System have been available to our customers since 2010 in the CLS. With MULTI BEAM LED technology the head lamps are able to react even more quickly, more precisely and individually to changing traffic conditions. On top of this, there are expanded functions of which a driver will become directly aware, such as anticipatory camera based curve recognition with the active light function. With such features Mercedes Benz once again is demonstrating its role as an innovation leader in the automobile industry”.

There is no information about when the model is going to be launched officially so far. It is informed that the upcoming Sport sedan comes powered with a twin turbo charged 3.0 litre V6 engine that could produce around 333 PS power at the peak along with 480 Nm of torque. Engine is expected to be mated with a 9 speed 9 G TRONIC gear box most probably.
