Microsoft in Andhra Pradesh? : IT Investment Region in Anantapur, Chittoor Districts?
Hyderabad was the address for Information Technology and fall the engineering students who finish their BTech course was looking towards Hyderabad for job opportunities in united Andhra Pradesh. Hyderabad provided jobs to nearly three lakh IT professionals. Hyderabad is one of the largest IT cities in India.
Vijayawada: A few days before bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, IT Investment Region was allotted to Hyderabad by central government and this will help Hyderabad to be one of the top cities for IT. IT sector did not develop in Residual Andhra Pradesh and it is said that Andhra Pradesh Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu is concentrating on developing IT in the state. It is informed that he spoke to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella about this. he is said to have requested Satya Nadella who is having his routed in Anantapuram district in AP to play crucial role in the procedure of development of IT industry in AP. It is also said that Satya Nadella responded positively for this proposal.
Microsoft has the biggest research center outside America in Hyderabad. Chandrababu Naidu played key role in bringing the research center to Hyderabad. He directly met Bill Gates in Delhi and requested him to set up the center in Hyderabad. With the setting up to Microsoft research centers in Hyderabad, the city became popular in international IT sector.
IBM, Oracle, GE, Wipro, Infosys and TCS companies came one by one to Hyderabad after this. Wipro, Infosys and TCS has the largest campuses in Hyderabad. Chandrababu Naidu now wants to develop the largest IT cluster in Andhra Pradesh and invite big IT companies such as Microsoft and Google. For this, Andhra Pradesh required the largest IT Corridor.
The new government in Andhra Pradesh, headed by Chandrababu Naidu wants to expand IT industry in Anantapur and Chittoor districts similar to ITIR in Hyderabad. One of the top IT city Bangalore is very near to Anantapur district and Chittoor is at equal distance from Chennai and Bangalore. Thus this region is said to be the most suitable region for development of IT corridor. An ITIR project is going to be designed to set up in this region. Another attraction of Anantapur district is being a center for Hyderabad and Bangalore cities. There is government land available in the district under Lepakshi project. The government is not going to limit for IT but also develop the corridor for electronic, computer hardware investment also.
