Micromax has always been an innovative mobile company and has exceeded many expectations with Micromax canvas 4. But is canvas 4 really worth the upgrade from Micromax canvas 2 plus?

Mumbai: Micromax Canvas 4 has a beautiful aluminum, 5.00 inches display screen with 720×1280 pixels of screen resolution which replaces the 5 inches, 480×854 pixels resolution of the Canvas 2 plus. It comes with a Corning Gorilla glass. Both Canvas 4 and Canvas 2 plus come with IPS LCD touch screen.

The memory storage of both phones comes up to 32 GB. They come with their own micro SD card. The internal memory storage of the Canvas 2 plus is 4 GB with 1 GB RAM while on the other hand the internal memory of the Canvas 4 is 16 GB with 1GB RAM. The processor of both phones is Micromax’s standard 1.2 GHz with quad-core processor.

Micromax Canvas 2 plus has an 8 Mega Pixel camera with auto focus and a dual LED flash. Canvas 4 has a 13 Mega Pixel camera with auto focus and only an LED flash. While the Canvas 2 plus only includes geo-tagging, touch focus and face detection the Canvas 4 comes with geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection, HDR and panorama modes. The front camera of the Canvas 2 plus is 2 mega pixel while in the Canvas 4 it is 5 mega pixel.

The software used in both phones is android software. The Canvas 2 plus has Android 4.2 software and it is upgraded to Android 4.2.1 in the Canvas 4. Though the Canvas 2 plus has a JAVA support, we cannot find JAVA support in the Canvas 4. Both phones have a PowerVR SGX544 GPU. Both come with an accelerometer and proximity sensors.

There is a Wi-FI, Bluetooth and GPS option in both phones though the NFC option may not be available. Both, Canvas 2 plus and Canvas 4 have a dual SIM option allowing the user to use more than 1 SIM at once.

Micromax phones have always had a good battery life and this is evident in both the phones. While the standby battery is 280 hours and talk time up to 6 hours in Canvas 2 plus, Canvas 4 has a standby battery of 220 hours and talk time up to 8 hours.
