Top Heroines Offering Item Songs As Well

Now is the trend of item songs. All the top rated heroes are going for item songs and the directors also want to cash the glamour and popularity of top rated heroines in item songs.

Hyderabad: Film industry is interested in commercial success and the top rated heroines are looking for quick bucks. They are ready to do item songs for achieving this objective.

Initial movies used to have item songs under the name ‘club song’. These roles were specifically reserved for artistes like Jyothi Laxmi, Jayamalini, Anuradha etc who depended solely on the item songs and they rarely get an opportunity to act in full length movies. During that item song those artistes were required to contribute their best (in terms of action and glamour) for success of the movie.

With the changed scenario where the heroines are also doing the portion of the so called ‘club song, there is no work for these special artistes.

Once again we are finding the repeat of club song, but this time it is coming under a different name. The new name is ‘item song’. The item song is more or less equal to our earlier club song sequences in old films. The difference is that these item songs are having top rated heroines.

While speaking on ‘item songs’ we will immediately get to remember Pataal Bhairavi. This movie produced by super star Krishna with Jeetendra as the hero and is a remake of NTR starrer movie of the same name. In the remade version, there was an item song by none other than Dimple Kapadia. Dimple at the time of remade Pataal Bhairavi was trying for re-entry into movies.

Subsequently we had many item songs and this is generally accepted rule across Tollywood, Bollywood , Kollywood without any difference.

The latest hit item songs include the performance by Tamanna in Allud Sreenu. This movie had Samantha as heroine and with her item song Tamanna impressed the producer so much that she got full length heroine role in the next movie of the same producer.

Another hot beauty from South Shruti Hasan is also doing lot of item songs. She rendered her item song for Mahesh Babu’s Aagadu. The item song got more popularity that the heroine’s role in the movie which received overall average talk.

Now the latest reports indicate that Shruti is likely to appear in item song in Jr. NTR-Puri movie (tentatively titled ‘Nenorakam’). Shruti, despite her busy schedule in Telugu, Tamil & Hindi movies as regular heroines, is able to do item songs as well.
