BMW M5 Launched for Rs. 1.35 Crores – Competes with Jaguar XFR, Mercedes Benz E63 AMG and Audi S6

The Bavarian Premium car making giant BMW has launched the all new M5 in the Indian market. The new M5 is being offered with elegant design, powerful engine line up and also with the exclusive quality making of the manufacturer. BMW is likely to import the new M5 into the Indian market through CBU (Completely Built Units) route basically and the price of the model is around Rs. 1.35 crores including taxes and import duties.

Mr. Philipp Von Sahr, the President for BMW Group India has stated in connection with the launch of new M5 “Power delivery, torque, driving dynamics; the new BMW M5 embodies pure athleticism. Conventional rules do not apply to the new BMW M5. An independent production of BMW M GmbH, it remains faithful to the M Philosophy, perfectly combining high performance with everyday practicality. An uncompromising presence, a natural leader, it conquers every challenge. Whether on the open road or in the city, it is the perfect interplay of the heartbeat, horsepower and exhilarating harmony”. M5 is being offered in 8 vivid colours and they are Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Imperial blue Effect, Monte Carlo Blue, Sakhir orange, Silverstone, Singapore grey and Space Grey respectively.

BMW is powering the new M5 with a monstrous 4.4 litre twin power turbo charged V8 engine that is capable of generating around 560 hp power at the peak along with 680 Nm of torque. Engine comes mated to a 7 speed double clutch transmission gear box by default and the power gets transmitted to the rear wheels only. As per the information, the new M5 is capable of attaining 100 kmph speed from rest within just around 4.3 seconds only and the top speed of the vehicle is electronically limited to 250 kmph. BMW claimed that the new M5 can assure around 10.1 kmpl mileage on an average and the CO2 emission of the vehicle is around 232 grams per kilometre.
