G Sateesh Reddy is the new Scientific Advisor to Union Defence Minister
30.05.2015: Scientist G Sateesh Reddy who is the director at RCI, DRDO is appointed as the scientific advisor to union defence minister Manohar Parrikar. He will continue in this position for two years. Sateesh Reddy joined DRDO in 1986 and since then led the desing and development of Ring Laser Gyro based INS system and also developed class guided bomb.
Pradeep Kumar Sinha Appointed as Cabinet Secretary to Union Government
30.05.2015: Pradeep Kumar Sinha, Secretary of Union Ministry of Power is appointed as the new Cabinet Secretary to Union government. He will join his duties on 13th June 2015. His appointment was cleared by Committee of the cabinet. He was the secretary, union ministry of power since 2013.
Jai Ho Documentary Screened at White House, Washington
30.05.2015: Umesh Agarwal directed Jai Ho documentary which is based on the life of Oscar winning Indian music director AR Rahman was screened at White House in Washington. The documentary shows the professional and personal life journey of the talented music director.
New Director General of Doordarshan is Veena Jain
30.05.2015: Veena Jain is appointed as the new director general of Doordarshan News. Her appointed was approved by union ministry of Information and Broadcasting. She succeeds Akshay Rout. Presently Veena Jain is the additional Director general in News Services Division of All India Radio.
Sepp Blatter is Re-elected as FIFA President
30.05.2015: FIFA president Joseph Sepp Blatter is re-elected as the president of FIFA. FIFA congress held in Zurich appointed him as the president of FIFA and this is going to be fifth term for him as the president. He got 133 votes in his favour out of the 206 valid votes. Ali Bin al-Hussein of Jordan who was also in the race got only 73 votes.
