Brendon McCullum Announced his Retirement from International Cricket
22.12.2015: New Zealand captain Brandon McCullum announced his retirement from International cricket. He will be retiring after the test series against Australia in February 2016. McCullum is the captain of New Zealand cricket teams for test, ODI and Twenty 20 forms. He played 254 one day matches and scored 59090 runs which include 31 half centuries and 5 centuries. He also played 99 tests and scored 6273 runs with an average of 38.48. He also played for Chennai Super Kings in Indian Premier League.
BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award 2015 is given to Andy Murray
22.12.215: The BBC Sports personality of the year award 2015 is presented to Andy Murray. The award was handed over to him in an event in London. He received 361446 public votes among 10009498 votes. This is the second award for Murray in three years. He also won this award in 2013. British Broadcasting Corporation presents this award annually to a sportsperson chosen by public voting.
National Mathematics Day Observed on Birth anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujan
22.12.2015: India celebrated the birth anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujan as National Mathematics Day on 22nd December. Former prime minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh made the declaration to observe the birthday of Ramanujan as National Mathematics Day in 2012. Srinivasa Ramanujan is a mathematician from India born in Erode district of Tamil Nadu. He died at a young age of 32 years due to ill health. His great contributions to mathematics include infinite series, mathematical analysis and number theory.
Personality of the year of Yahoo is Cow
22.12.2015: Yahoo named cow as the personality of the year 2015. Yahoo also said that Salman Khan and Sunny Leone are the most searched male and female celebrities in the year. Arvind Kejriwal and Nitish Kumar, Chief Ministers of Delhi and Bihar respectively were the top newsmakers in the year 2015.
Anwesha Scheme Launched by Odhisha Government
22.12.215: Odhisha government launched a new scheme to help SC and ST students. This scheme is meant to provide free education belonging to SC and ST categories. Private schools in urban areas will enroll around 5000 students annually and the education costs will be borne by the government.
