India Vs England 4th ODI at Mohali Tomorrow: Mohali Pitch Assists Seamers
Chandigarh: The fourth one day match in the India Vs England five day match series will be played at Mohali on 23rd, January, 2013. Fifth one day match will be played at Dharmasala. India is leading the series with two wins. Since few days, it is raining in Mohali and Punjab and the weather is also very cool. Punjab Cricket Association authorities are using modern technology to remove rain water from the ground.
Indian and England teams reached Mohali on 20th January, 2013. Both the teams will practice in the stadium on Tuesday morning. Punjab Cricket Association authorities informed that the stadium has good drainage system through which rain water can be drained immediately. Since weather is cool, the wicket may favour pace bowlers, it is said. Bhuvneshwar Kumar of India and Finn and Dernbach of England may perform well on the wicket of Mohali. Presently the temperature at Mohali is 16-18 degrees.
England won the first one day international match at Rajkot. The next two matches were won by India. England has to win the fourth one day match to keep the hopes of winning the series. England and India played a match on Mohali ground in October, 2011. India won the match by five wickets. India scored 298 runs in that match and lost four wickets. The cold conditions and snowing at Mohali may affect the fourth one day match that will be played on 23rd January. The pitch may not favour batsmen.
Meanwhile BCCI clarified that Rohit Sharma and Chateshwar Pujara will not play in the final match of Ranji trophy. Both these are presenlty included in Team India squad which was selected for England one day series. BCCI said that both these players will be will the Indian team. Rohit Sharma is a player of Mumbai team and Pujara is Sourashtra team member. One of the officials of BCCI informed that Pujara, Rohit or Jadeja will not play in the Ranji Trophy final match. They will be available for Team India for the coming two one day matches. He also added that no player selected for international matches will be released for domestic cricket matches. This rule is applicable only for test series, he said.
