Chandra Sekhar Yeleti Directed Gopichand’s Latest Movie ‘Sahasam’ Review
Gopichand’s new movie ‘Sahasam’ is directed by Chandra Sekhar Yeleti. Female lead character is played by Tapsee. Sahasam is overall a feel good movie with good photography, action scenes and good performance by important characters.
Hyderabad: Sahasam is the latest movie of Gopichand. Gopichand’s movie is released almost after one and half year. The movie is directed by Chandra Sekhar Yeleti, who is one of the directors who changed the trend of Telugu cinema. His earlier releases such as Aite and Anukokunda Oka Roju received the appreciation of critics. He also directed Okkaunnadu and Prayanam which were not commercial hits. But this time he also taken a big gap and is back with a commercial project starring Gopichand.
Sahasam may disappoint a section of audience who has great hopes on Chandra Sekhar Yeleti. But overall it can be said as an adventurous movie which is going to be successful commercially also.
Recent movies of Gopichand are all flops and the success of Sahasam is equally important for Gopichand. The trailers of the movies attracted the audience. Tollywood also has high expectations on this movie.
Story of Sahasam
Audience expect a different story from Chandarsekhar Yeleti’s films. Sahasam is not different from the regular Telugu movies. The storyline is similar to ‘Takkari Donga’ released ten years back. The background chosen by Yeleti is different. Gautam played by Gopichand is a security gad in an agency. He wants to become rich instantly and goes to Baba’s to know his future. Gautam’s grandfather was a diamond trader before India and Pakistan were separated. Varma hides a diamonds for his heirs in an area that falls in Pakistan now. Gautam comes to know about this.
Gautam goes to Pakistan to bring the will written by his grandfather. He takes the help of Tapsee. The property of Gautam’s grandfather is at Shakti Kapoor, a Pakistan terrorist. How Gautam gets back his property from him makes the remaining art of the movie.
Technical Aspects of Sahasam
Cinematography is the main attraction of the film. Shyam Dutt is the cinematographer and his work is fresh. Sets are designed by Ramakrishna. Background score of the film is given by Sree. Sahasam is an adventurous movie and Yeleti succeeded in making the film in low budget.
Positive points of Sahasam
Gopichand suited well for the character of Gautam. His body language is the best in action sequences. Heroine Tapsee looks glamorous. Shakti Kapoor excels in the character of terrorist. The story is new for the Tollywood audience. Visual effects are also good. Fighting scenes in the movie are close to reality.
There is no logic in most of the scenes. Emotion scenes in the movie are also not very clear. Sahasam is an above average film and gives a feeling of watching a novel. Over all it is a feel good film.
