Photon Max Wi-Fi Dongle Launched by Tata Docomo for Rs. 1,999
Tata Docomo added another dongle to its Photon Family. it is Photon Max WiFi and it is offered with a price tag of Rs. 1,999 it comes with built in WiFi hotspot. Maximum speed that can be reached in limited cities if 6.3 Mbps.
New Delhi: Photon Max WiFi, this is the new connectivity product in the Photon family launched by Tata Docomo. This is an USB dongle for accessing internet and comes with in-built WiFi hotspot. Tata has priced the dongle Rs. 1,999.
Maximum download speed that can be reached with Photo Max WiFi is up to 6.2 Mbps. Five WiFi devices can be used with this. It is powered by USB port. The device can be connected to get internet connection from the laptop, or any other USB power adapter be it at home or in the vehicle. It is possible to get WiFi internet connection anywhere using Photon Max WiFi. The inbuilt hotspot range is 100 meters, it is said. Other dongles release by Tata are Photon Max and Photon Plus. All these dongles including the latest Photon Max WiFi works at 800 MHz frequency. The indoor connectivity of the device is much better when compared to any other GSM frequencies. The dongle comes with free roaming across the country. It should however be noted that the 6.3 Mbps speed of the dongle comes in only limited number of cities. This is limited to only 30 cities and in other 300 cities the speed will be 3.1 Mbps. In other regions, the speed may come down to 153.6 kbps.
Tata is offering various usage plans for post-paid and prepaid users. Advance rental plan offer is the plan in which the customer pays Rs. 4,999 and they can get a WiFi Dongle and unlimited data for three months. It is also possible to move to other plans after three months. The customers who are already using Tata Photon dongle can contact customer care to upgrade.
Tata Docomo said that existing users of Docomo Photo can upgrade to Photon Max. They can get cash back offer which nullifies the cost to be paid in 13 months. Various plans are offered by the company which begin from Rs. 650 to Rs. 1500.
