Samsung Galaxy S4 vs Google Nexus 5: The Flagship wars
Samsung Galaxy S4 has been making merry in the Indian market for a while now but it will now be rivalled by the Nexus 5 which has hit Indian shores. The Nexus 5 is available for Rs 28,999 and Rs 32,999 whereas the 16GB S4 is selling for around Rs 34,000.
There are plenty of smartphones in the market; it is always wise to do your home work before purchasing one. Let us have a comparative look at the Nexus 5 and Galaxy S4 smartphones:
Built: The dimensions of Nexus 5 device are 138 x 69 x 8.6 mm and it weighs about 130 grams. On the other hand, the dimensions of Galaxy S4 are 137 x 70 x 7.9 mm and it also weighs 130 grams.
Display: The Google Nexus 5 carries a capacitive full HD IPS touch display of 5 inches with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a pixel density of 445 ppi. Galaxy S4 features a capacitive full HD Super AMOLED touch display of 5 inches with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a pixel density of 441 ppi.
Processor: The Nexus 5 has been equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad core processor clocked at 2.26 Giga Hertz. Where as, the Galaxy S4 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad core processor clocked at 1.9 Giga Hertz.
Operating System: The Nexus 5 device functions on Android 4.4 KitKat version while the Galaxy S4 runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean platform.
Camera: Nexus 5 features a primary camera of 8 mega pixels and a front facing camera of 1.3 mega pixels. On the other hand, the Galaxy S4 has been loaded with a primary camera of 13 mega pixels and a front facing camera of 2 mega pixels.
Memory: Both the device carry 2 GB RAM. Nexus 5 comes with internal memory of 16/ 32 GB and no expandable memory feature. While Galaxy S4 comes with internal memory of 16/ 32/ 64 GB and an expandable memory of up to 64 GB.
Battery: The Nexus 5 smartphone works on a battery of 2300 mAh while Galaxy S4 runs on a battery of 2600 mAh. Both the devices claim to offer about 17 hours of talk time on 3G.
Our Take: My verdict is in favor of Google Nexus 5 as it features a more powerful processor, better display and the latest Android platform.
