Gionee has just launched its flagship smartphone, the Elife E7 in India at a lucrative price tag of Rs 26,999 and Samsung is all set to launch the Grand 2 for about Rs 23,000-24,000. Both the smartphones are way apart in terms of specifications but Samsung has a brand name that Gionee will find pretty hard to beat. Let us how they stack up against each other.

New Delhi: A plethora of smartphones is flooding the market and still many new ones are in queue to be launched. It is high time to compare some of the best handsets than came into market this year. Here is a comparative look at the Gionee Elife E7 and Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 devices:

Built: Elife E7 is about 9.5 mm thick and it weighs approximately 150 grams. On the other hand, Galaxy Grand 2 is 8.9 mm thick and it weighs nearly 163 grams.

Display: Elife E7 comes with a 5.5 inch capacitive touch display that offers a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Galaxy Grand 2 sports a 5.25 inch capacitive touch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.

Processor: Elife E7 has been loaded with Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad core processor clocked at 2.2 GHz. While the Galaxy Grand 2 carries a quad core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz.

Operating System: Elife E7 works on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean version while Galaxy Grand 2 runs on Android 4.3 platform.

Camera: Elife E7 carries a rear camera of 16 mega pixels with LED flash and a front facing camera of 8 mega pixels. On the other hand, Galaxy Grand 2 comes with an 8 mega pixels rear camera with LED flash and a 2 mega pixels front facing shooter.

Memory: Elife E7 features a RAM of 2 GB and internal storage of 16 GB. It does not offer expandable memory feature. Galaxy Grand 2 offers 1.5 GB of RAM and 8 GB of inbuilt storage space. It features up to 64 GB expandable memory.

Connectivity Features: Connectivity features offered by both the handsets include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, micro USB, 2G EDGE and 3G. Elife E7 also provides Wi-Fi direct and NFC.

Battery: Elife E7 runs on a non removable battery of 2500 mAh while Galaxy Grand 2 runs on 2600 mAh battery.

Our Take: If you are camera savvy, Gionee Elife E7 is a better option. However, if memory is a big concern for you, opt for Galaxy Grand 2.
