iPhone 4 8GB to re-launched in India for Rs 22,900
Apple seems to be going the aggressive way for the Indian market. The company has quietly launched the iPhone 4 8GB again for Rs 22,900 the device is already about 3 years old. Nevertheless its still an iPhone is expected to find a lot of takers
New Delhi:Just a few days back, we had discussed how the US tech giant Apple Inc. is turning the heat on with its marketing efforts in India. It has twice offered a buyback scheme and now it is re-launching its classic iPhone 4 8GB version with a new price tag which will pull masses, a sure shot strategy to sell in India.
Although there is no official word on this but many sources has confirmed that the company has quietly re-introduced the stocks of the device in the market. This will help it to stand tall in a cluttered market against the players like Samsung, Micromax, Karbonn and others. When the device had come out first in India, its price was around Rs 26,500. But at Rs 22,900, the iPhone4 will surely get lot attention as Apple is still an aspired brand. On the other hand, the India specific strategy to go for mass selling may also backfire as the overall positioning of the company being a niche brand will come under fire if every other person flashes an Apple handset.
Since Apple had stopped production of iPhone4 a longtime ago, we can expect the company to use its unsold inventory for this re-launch. Hence, this can well be a onetime move to clear off its warehouses and the company may not resort to same tactics in the future. Since iPhone4’s launch 3 years ago, Aplle has launched products such as like iPhone 4S, iPhone5, 5c and 5s. out of these, iPhone 5s had a superb stint in the country as the first lot got sold out within 24 hours of its launch on Diwali last year.
Be it a one time affair or a long term strategy, if you wanted to own an Apple device but could not afford before, here is your chance.
