Volvo XC Concept Coupe revealed at NAIAS 2014 – Thomas Ingenlath says its ‘Sleeker and Safer’
Volvo has revealed the brand new XC Coupe Concept at the Detroit Motor Show and the two door coupe has succeeded in impressing majority of the visitors at the show. The exclusive design of the model is somewhat weird but impressive. Volvo has not revealed much about the model at the show but has sent a message to the world about how amazing the future models from Volvo are going to be, with the design of this particular model.
Mr. Thomas Ingenlath, the Senior Vice President for Design, Volvo Car Group has stated in connection with the launch of XC Concept Coupe “Those who love extreme sports freely seek new thrills and challenges. To ensure that they make it back in one piece, they prefer high performance equipment that offers the ultimate sense of freedom and protection. The Volvo Concept XC Coupe is perfectly in tune with this active life style. Its capability and protection is cleverly integrated into the sophisticated looks. Concept XC Coupe is ready and willing to bring you into the adventure zone and back.
Concept XC Coupe also shows how clever engineering makes it possible for us to reinforce our world leading safety without compromising design, size or weight. Thanks to the extensive use of high strength boron steel and structures with new, ingenious decoupling, we can make SPA cars more compact and safer at the same time. Several orange details and exterior graphics in combination with bold use of matter rubber mouldings, which cover the rear end of the car, add to the highly functional expression of the design. Both concept cars show how we can shape our cars from now on. We add emotional value to the Volvo brand with the calm, confident beauty that is the hallmark of Scandinavian design”.
Volvo has equipped the new XC Concept coupe with ‘floating’ grille on the front fascia and T shaped DRL lights too added. It is basically a two door, four seated compact sports utility vehicle with an exclusive roofline. The 21 inch larger full alloy wheels intensifies the elegance of the model painted in silver. Volvo has not revealed engine specifications, pricing details and the launch schedule of the production variant of the brand new XC Concept Coupe.
