China is Top Gold Consumer
18.02.2014: China became top gold consumer. Earlier India is in first position. Now it was occupied by China. World Gold Council announced this on 18th February 2014. In 2013, Chinese consumed 1066 tonnes of gold products while Indian Counter parts consumed only 975 tones as per the announcement given by London based council report.

18.02.2014: New human cornea layer discovered by Harminder Dua. He is an Indian doctor. Dua made experiments at the University of Nottingham. In the structure of tissue which controls the flow of fluid from the eye, this layer play an important role. British journal Ophthalmology published this news for the first time.
Lok Sabha Passes Telangana Bill
18.02.2014: Lok sabha Passed Contentious Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill 2014. This bill helps to create separate Telangana. Now it need to be passed in Rajya Sabha before 15th hour otherwise bill will not be accepted.
Life time to Death Punishment given to the convicts in Rajiv Gandhi Case
18.02.2014: Supreme Court passed an order of death sentence to life imprisonment to the convicts of Rajiv Gandhi Case. Bench is headed by P.Sathasivam along with other justices SK Singh and Ranjan Gogoi. Convicts of this case were Perarivalan, Murugan and Santhan.
Telangana became 29th state
18.02.2014: After Lok Sabha passed bill, Telangana became 29th state in India. This state will have 10 districts. Hyderabad will act as Joint capital for 10 years. Seemandra will have 13 districts.
