Maruti Suzuki Celerio vs Tata Bolt – Which is the best budget hatch back at 2014 Auto Expo?
The prestigious 2014 Auto Expo has come to an end and the managing authorities have held the show successfully, meeting the expectations of the visitors. About 5.5 lakhs people have witnessed the event this year and all leading manufacturers of India have entertained the visitors with their spectacular concepts. Maruti Suzuki’s Celerio has surprised most of the visitors as well as the car lovers from all over India. But Tata’s Bolt hatchback which is having similar specs is capable of giving a tough fight for the former. The question is, which is the best hatch among Maruti Suzuki Celerio and Tata Bolt?
Let us have a closer look at the specs of both these models
Design
The external design of the new Celerio hatchback looks amazing and it looks quite different from the former hatch backs of the manufacturer such as Alto and A Star and etc. The brand new Celerio has its dimensions as 3600 mm in length and 1600 mm in width and the wheel base of the model is around 2425 mm. Maruti is also offering a total of seven colours for the exterior exclusively.
Tata has not revealed much about the Bolt yet but the model looks pretty impressive with the sportier roof spoiler along with the addition of fog lamp bezels. The external design of Bolt hatch back is much aerodynamic than former hatches from the manufacturer.
Engine and Performance
All 6 variants of the Celerio hatch back are powered with a 1.0 litre three cylinder K series petrol engine that is capable of generating around 67 bhp at the peak along with 90 Nm of torque. Engine comes mated to a 5 speed manual transmission gear box in the base variant. The Auto Manual Transmission powered variants assures the massive fuel economy of a manual transmission powered car and the clutch less comfort offered by an automatic transmission vehicle.
Tata has powered the petrol version of new Bolt hatch back with a 1.2 litre turbo charged REVOTRON engine that has been developed on their own. The engine is capable of generating around 83.8 bhp at the peak along with 14.3 kgm torque. Bolt is also available in diesel version which comes powered with a 1.3 litre multi jet diesel engine that generates 74 bhp at the peak along with 19.4 kgm.
Mileage and Price:
The manual transmission variant of Maruti Suzuki Celerio delivers a massive 23.1 kilometers of mileage per one litre and it has been priced in the range of Rs.3.9 lakhs to Rs. 4.96 lakhs only.
Tata has not officially confirmed the price of Bolt hatchback so far but it could be expected in the range of Rs. 4 lakhs to Rs. 6 lakhs only.
