Hero Motocorp Launched Splendor iSmart Bike for Rs. 47,250 Ex-showroom Delhi

Hero added a new bike to the splendor series dubbed as Splendor iSmart. It features i3S technology that helps in saving fuel. It will be offered in green, red, grey and blue colors.

New Delhi: Hero Motocorp released it latest bike ‘Splendor iSmart’ into Indian market. The bike features I3S technology and will be offered in four colors. The bike will be offered for a price of Rs. 47.250 ex-showroom price, New Delhi.

Special attraction of Splendor iSmart are 100 c air cooled 4 stroke single cylinder OHC engine. Moto Corp said in a statement that the new bike is launched to consolidate its top position in 100 cc bike segment. I3S technology helps the engine to stop when the bike is idle and it can be restarted using the clutch. This will reduce consumption of fuel. Hero Motocorp applied for the patent of I3S technology and soon it will be extended to other models also informed Anil Dua, Hero Moto Corp.

Hero Moto Corp Splendor iSmart was unveiled at the Auto Expo that ended recently. There is tough competition in the 100 cc bike segment from the likes of Mahindra, Honda and Bajaj. Hero is expecting that less fuel consumption of Splendor iSmart will help increase the sales.

Intelligent start-stop system shortly called the i3S technology is used in some models of cars in India. when the technology senses when the engine is idle it switches off the ignition. Just pressing the clutch will bring the bike again to life.

iSmart comes with 97.2 cc engine. Power and torque is 7.69 BHP and 4,500 pm torque. It features drum brakes, tubeless tyres. The engine can be started with kick and electric starter. It features analogue speedometer, fuel meter, odometer and also basic warning lights. There is a start stop button to mange iSmart technology. It is offered in four color options, red, grey, blue and green.

Splendor iSmart can be purchased from the dealerships of Hero and will be available all over India. The price for which the bike will be available in Mumbai is Rs. 49,967; ex-showroom price in Chennai is Rs. 48,192, ex-showroom price Delhi in Rs. 47,250; ex-showroom price in Kolkata is Rs. 48,549 and ex-showroom price Bengaluru is Rs. 48,014.
