KTM RC 390 and RC 125 spotted – Yamaha R125, Honda CBR and Hero Impulse in trouble
All variants of the Duke series launched in the Indian market by KTM in collaboration with Bajaj Autos went successful so far. Success of the model has given KTM the confidence to introduce some of its successful models from global markets. Sources have revealed that KTM is likely to launch RC 390 in the Indian market later this year but there was no assurance for the same to happen. To the surprise of all, a paparazzo has spotted a fully built unit of the RC 390 at Bajaj’s Chakan Plant recently.
A fully built unit of RC 390 has been spotted along with a unit of RC 125 at Bajaj’s plant and the paparazzo has managed to capture few snaps of the same. A set of images were revealed over web making Indian bike lovers mad. Both the models could give a breakthrough for KTM this year with their appealing looks and amazing power. Demand for both >200 CC bikes as well as for 125 CC segment is increasing at enormous rate in the Indian market from past one or two years and it is a good sign for the manufacturer.
The new RC 390 could be considered as a higher end variant from KTM in the 390 CC segment. Duke 390 has attracted majority of Indian buyers so far and the upcoming RC 390 is also expected to earn huge reputation in the country. The super bike could get powered with a 373.2 CC liquid cooled engine that is capable of producing around 43.5 PS at the peak along with 35 Nm of torque. The monstrous engine could accelerate the vehicle to a top speed of around 175 kmph very comfortably. Engine will be accompanied with a 6 speed constant mesh manual gear box as standard.
KTM could offer the Indian version of the RC 125 with a 124.7 CC liquid cooled single cylinder engine that is capable of generating around 15 hp power at the peak along with 10.8 NM of torque. The same 6 speed manual transmission gear box could be opted for RC 125 also. As per the information, the upcoming RC 390 could be a bit expensive than Duke 390 and the difference in price could be up to Rs. 50k and hence we could expect the KTM RC 390 to get priced around Rs. 2.6 lakhs.
