Tata Kite Sedan Spotted with Camouflage – Price to be >Rs. 5 lakhs, tackles Hyundai Xcent, Maruti DZire
Tata Motors has bagged a success with the Zest sedan already and is looking for opportunities to grab major share of the entry level sedans segment which is one of the most emerging segments in the Indian automotive market currently. Kite compact sedan is considered the future key player for the native Indian giant so far. An enthusiast has spotted a test mule of the same and revealed a set of spy images of the test mule over web recently. Thus, we can expect the official debut of the sedan so soon.
As per the information, the upcoming Kite sedan is going to replace the Indigo ECS sedan completely. The manufacturer has already started testing the hatch back version of the Kite platform and we have seen some sets of spy images of the same earlier. But there was no information at all about the Sedan version of the same so far and the current set of spy images has surprised everybody. The respective test mule was fully covered with black coloured camouflage and it is very difficult to get an idea about the sedan from the respective set of spy images. However, the base structure of the sedan looks very sportier and it is rather unique from the other entry level sedan models available in India.
Kite hatch back is expected to be placed above Nano in Tata’s portfolio and it can be a good competitor for rival models such as Maruti Suzuki Celerio and Datsun Go. The sedan version of the Kite series is expected to make the things harder for Maruti Suzuki DZire, Hyundai Verna and etc. We can expect the petrol version of the Kite sedan to get powered with a 1.2 litre Revotron petrol engine mostly whereas the diesel variant may get powered with a 1.3 litre Multi Jet diesel engine that is adopted from Fiat. Tata Motors is expected to carry out the production of the Kite hatch back and Sedan models at the Sunand Facility.
