Rajnikant’s New Movies
Tamil super star Rajnikant is passing through bad phase in his career. After completing 4 decades in film industry, his successive films are unable to enjoy success at the box office.
Chennai: Discoveries of all time great director K Balachander includes that of Kamal Haasan and Rajnikant. Both these Tamil stars started their movie career in hands of this great director. While both the heroes gave joint appearance in many movies (in the initial days of their career), Kamal could prove his success predominantly for story oriented pictures (just short of art films).
Rajni on the other hand enjoyed the success as commercial hero. Rajni is the action hero in the hearts of audience and his fans as well.
The successful movies of Rajni include movies like Basha, Padiyappa (Narasimha in Telugu), Chandramukhi, Sivaji, Robo etc. Of late, Rajni is not able to impress his audience in his movies. After Robo (2010) coming from the sensational director Shankar Rajni could not enjoy success in the same range for his successive movies.
His next movie coming after 2 years was Kochadayyan. The own production of Rajni had his daughter Saundarya handling the megaphone and the movie turned out to be animation movie rather than Rajni action. Rajni fans expect ‘style’ in his role which is lacking in the movie. The movie had presence of north heroine Deepika Padukone opposite Rajni.
The next movie of Rajni (Lingaa) came from KS Ravikumar another hit director who gave hits with Rajni as well as other heroes. This movie also had the presence of south beauty Anushka and north beauty Sonakshi Sinha supporting the glamour department in the movie. Despite the high expectations and sentiment of releasing the movie on birth date of Rajni, the movie could not get the required degree of success. The dual role played by Rajni clubbed with the slow script pace caused the movie failure at the box office. The distributors of the movie incurred huge losses and they want either the producer or the hero to compensate them for the huge losses.
On the personal front, Rajni’s bankers issued notices to him informing that his assets (kept as security for loans secured by him for Kochadayyan) will be put on auction.
Under these hard circumstances, the future projects of Rajnikant are generating huge expectations. Rajni is reported to be doing a movie with KS Ravikumar once again and the female lead roles will be done by stars like Deepika Padukone, Ileana & Tabu etc. Some other reports indicate that Rajni is likely to do a special role in Mahesh’s next movie as well.
