‘Tevar’ Unable To Get Reasonable Success
The luck of glamour queen Sonakshi Sinha seemed to have exhausted with her successive failures at box office.
Mumbai: The high expectations movie Tevar released today to receive mixed to negative initial response at the box office.
The official remake of Mahesh starrer’ Okkdau (under Gunasekar direction) is Tevar. The Hindi version starred Arjun Kapooor & Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles replaying the roles of Mahesh Babu & Bhoomika respectively.
While Manoj Bajpai acted against the hero in the movie, the initial reviews/comments are not encouraging for the Kapoos Hero.
Already Sonakshi had to face bad phase for her earlier released in 2014. While her Bollywood venture Action Jackson (with action hero Ajay Devgn & choreographer-director Prabhu Deva) opened with above average collections, her next release was Lingaa. The Rajni starrer had high expectations and also other glamour like Anushka Shetty from south.
Despite the positive weights like great director, proven hero and excellent combination of glamour (from south & north as well), Lingaa could not meet the expectations of the audience. The distributors of the movie incurred heavy losses and they are demanding a suitable support from her Rajni.
Coming to Tevar, the glamour of Sonakshi as well as the action of Arjun Kapoor as Tevar could not ensure success for the movie.
The initial ratings for the movie are one of the lowest for Sonakshi in her career. Sonakshi proved herself lucky when she debuted with blockbuster Dabaang opposite Salman Khan. Her successive movies like Dabaang2, Rowdy Rathore etc., proved her successive attractive movie career.
Arjun Kapoor had experience of 4 movies as assistant director. The present movie Tevar is his home production (his father Boney Kapoor produced the movie). Despite many positive weights and high expectations, the movie got initial reports contrary to the expectations. This leaves the hero & heroine Arjun Kapoor & Sonakshi Sinha to take more precautions for their future movies.
