Cricket World Cup 2015: New Zealand Vs Sri Lanka, Australia Vs England Matches Today
Prestigious ICICI cricket world cup began today with a first match between New Zealand and Sri Lanka at 3.30 am. This tourney is being hosted by Australia and New Zealand. Fourteen teams are participating in this tourney.
Melbourne: New Zealand is one of the favorite teams for this World Cup 2015 tourney. New Zealand is in good form and in addition to this; they are playing the tourney on their home ground which is definitely a pals point. Though the team did not win many matches before the tourney the team is confident it will perform well in this tourney. Sangakkara, Jayewardene announced that they will retire from cricket after the world cup and thus this is the last chance to see them in world cup.
Second match in this tourney is played between Australia and England in Melbourne. Tickets for this match sold like hot cakes and more than 90,000 spectators are expected at the stadium. Recently Australia and England played three matches in tri-series in which Australia won all the matches. Australia played 12 matches in recent times and won eleven matches.
Australia batting lineup is very strong. Michael Stork who comes for batting in tenth position recently scored 99 runs in a test match which proves the batting strength of the team. Johnson, Cummins, Stork and other bowlers are available in the team. Aussies is the world no. 1 one day cricket team.
England on the other side did not win a one day series since one year. The team’s record at World cup is also not great. England did not reach the semi final level in world cup tourneys since 1992. In recent times the team played 15 matches and lost 13. But captain Morgan is confident that they will restrict Aussies in the first match
