Mithun Chakraborty Questioned in Saradha Chitfund Scam
17.05.2015: Trinamool Congress MP and Bollywood actor Mithun Chakraborthy was questioned in Saradha Chitfund scam by Enforcement Directorate. Mithun is believed to receive amount from the firm and he assured to ED that he will return the amount.
Sulabh International Given Cash Reward to Chaitali Galakhe
17.05.2015: Chaitali Galakhe, a bride from Maharashtra who preferred toilet as a wedding gift over jewellery is given a cash reward of Rs. 10 lakh. Sulabh International gave the award to the woman for his stand on this issue. Chaitali insisted to have a toiled in her in-law’s house and she said she is inspired by Swachch Bharat campaign.
Film Director Kalpaturu Passed Away
17.05.2015: Film Director popular for films such as Khoon ka Badla Khoon, Bade Ghar ki Beti, Ghar Ghar ki Kahani and many other hit films passed away in Mumbai at the age of 78. He was unwell since a few days and was in the hospital. He was born as K Parvez and started his career in films at the age of 18. He is survived by wife and two daughters.
Brad Haddin retires from One Day Cricket
17.05.2015: Brad Haddin, the Australian wicket keeper announced his retirement from one day cricket format. His last one match was the World Cup final that he played in March this year. The 37 year cricketer represented his country in 126 one day international. He scored 3,122 runs, took 170 catches and 11 stumpings. His highest score was 110 runs against New Zealand.
Postal ATMs to be set up Soon in India
17.05.2015: Central government of India is planning to open nearly on thousand postal ATMs in the country. The ATMs allow withdrawing cash round the clock. Patna general post office was the first to open postal ATM.
Infosys to Open Campus in China
17.05.2015: Infosys announced that it will set up his fir overseas campus in China. This is the first overseas center outside India and the investment will be USD 120 million. An agreement was signed between Infosys and Chinese provincial government in this regard. The agreement was signed at India China Business Forum. The staff capacity will be 4.500 and will be set up in Guizhou province in China.
