Yamaha R3 Spotted without Camouflage – Price around Rs. 4 lakhs, launch by end of 2015?
Yamaha has been launching a number of midsized sports bike models around the world frequently and most of them are being received very well by potential biking enthusiasts. But very few of those models have stepped on the Indian terrain and thus most of the Indian fans are disappointed by this. The manufacturer has launched R3 recently in global markets and a test mule of the same was spotted while testing on Indian roads.
The brand new R3 measures around 2090 mm of length, 720 mm of width along with 1135 mm of height respectively. It comes with a larger wheel base of around 1380 mm whereas the ground clearance of the vehicle is around 160 mm. The manufacturer offers 17 inch full alloy wheels with 10 spokes. The front wheel gets fitted with a 110/70 tyre while the rear wheel gets fitted with a 140/70 tyre. Suspension needs at the front are taken care by telescopic forks and a 298 mm disk brake is offered whereas the rear wheel gets a 220 mm disk brake and mono shock suspension system. Yamaha has previously launched R25 in global markets but it hasn’t reached India but the current set of spy images have produced hope to see the new R3 in India.
The grand new R3 comes powered with a 300 CC four valve engine with fuel injection system and it is capable of producing around 42 PS power at the peak along with 29.6 nm of torque. The manufacturer has accompanied engine with a six speed gear box and the combination is capable of achieving top speed of more than 187 kmph. It is also informed that the new Yamaha R3 is capable of sprinting 60 kmph speed from rest within just 2.89 seconds only whereas the same takes around 6 seconds for 0 – 100 kmph sprint. We can expect the midsized sports bike to get launched in India officially by the end of this year mostly and it could get priced around Rs. 4 lakhs.
