Micromax added a new tablet to the Canvas series. The new tablet is dubbed as Canvas tab P690 and will be offered for a price of Rs. 8,999. The device will be made available at offline and online stores in a few days from now. Though the tablet comes out of the box with Android Kitkat OS, Micromax claims that OS update will be available soon.

New Delhi: The new member in the product portfolio of Micromax tablets is Canvas Tab P690 and this comes with 8 inch display. Display resolution is 1280 x 800 pixels. It is powered by 1.3 GHz quad core Intel Atom processor which is backed by 1 GB RAM. In-built storage provided is 8 GB and those who find this insufficient can utilize micro SD facility to add extra storage up to 32 GB. There are 5 megapixel rear camera and 2 megapixel front facing camera on board for taking photos. It runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat operating system. The tablet supports 3G, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. There are accelerometer and ambient light sensors. It comes packed with 4000 mAh battery that gives 180 hours of standby time.
