Anisa Rasouli Nominated as First Female Judge of Afghanistan Supreme Court
02.07.2015: Anisa Rasouli is nominated as the first female judge for Afghanistan Supreme court. She is the head of Afghan Women Judges Association. Her nomination has to be approved by the parliament. If approved she will be in the post for ten years. It should be noted that in Afghanistan it was a taboo for the women to come out of the house without a male companion during the rule of Taliban from 1996 to 2001.
U P Singh Appointed as Chairman and MD of Oil India Limited
02.07.2015: U P Singh who is serving as Joint Secretary Exploration under Petroleum and Natural Gas ministry is given new responsibility as the Interim Chairman and Managing Director of Oil India Limited. He replaced S K Srivastava.
Rahul Yadav, CEO of Housing.com Sacked
02.07.2015: Rahul Yadav the CEO and Co-founder of Housing.com was sacked by the board in a meeting held in Delhi. He will not be part of company in any manner, said the company and he was sacked with immediate effect. His unacceptable way of behaving with the investors and media is said to be the cause of removal. Rahul Yadav is a co-founder of housing.com and is an IITian.
Darshan Jain Named for US Presidential Award
02.07.2015: Indian American teacher Darshan Jain is named for US President award. He is the director of Mathematics in Adlai E Stevenson High School. He is named for his excellence in Mathematics and science Teaching. He is among 108 teachers who are named for the award.
Chandrasekharan Ramakrishna Appointed CEO of Tata Motor’s Group
02.07.2015: Tata Motors Group announced the appointment of Chandrasekharan Ramakrishna as the chief financial officer with immediate effect. Tata Motor Groups is number one in commercial vehicles and is one of the top companies in utility, midsize car and compact care segments.
BJP MP Hema Malini Injured in a Road Accident
02.07.2015: Bollywood actress and BJP MP Hema Malini is severely injured in a road accident in Jaipur in Rajasthan. She was immediately shifted to a hospital and her condition is said to be stable. The Mercedes in which she travelling was hit by another car and a five year girl child who was travelling in the other car was dead and another four were injured severely.
