Metropolitan Stock Exchange of India Appointed Udai Kumar as MD
24.2.2016: Metropolitan Stock Exchange of India received all approvals from SEBI and announced the appointment of Udai Kumar as its managing director and CEO. He is presently the interim managing director and CEO. He was serving in place of Saurabh Sarkar who resigned from the organization. Udai Kumar has more than twenty years of experience in stock exchange administration and other functions.
Jet Airways Appoints Rahul Taneja as Chief People Officer
24.2.2016: Jet Airways announced the appointment of Rahul Taneja as the chief people officer. He was with Essar group heading the corporate human resources prior to this appointment. Taneja has more than twenty five years of experience and worked across international and Indian companies. Earlier, he also worked as the HR director at Dell International and HR Head at HFCL.
KN Vyas is the new Director of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre
24.2.2016: KN Vyas is appointed as the director of BARC. He will hold this position for three years. His appointment was approved by Narendra Modi led Appointments Committee of the cabinet. Shekar Basu who was the director of BARC is now appointed as Atomic Energy Secretary and Chairman of Atomic Energy Commission in October last year.
New Chief Justice of Orissa High Court is Justice Vineet Saran
24.2.2016: Justice Vineet Saran is appointed as the chief justice of Orissa High Court. His appointment was made by the president of India Pranab Mukherjee. Justice D H Waghela, who held the post before Justice Vineet Saran was transferred as chief justice of Bombay High Court few days ago. Justice Pradeep K Mohant was acting as the CJ of Orissa high court.
French Government Knighthood for Ismail Mahomed
24.2.2016: Ismail Mahomed, an Indian origin is knighted by French government. He was given this honor for promoting arts. He was given the Knight of the Order of Arts and Literature by Eslisabet Barbiet, the French Ambassador in an event in Johannesburg. In his thirty years long career he was honored with many awards such as Premier’s award. He is presently the Artistic Director of the National Arts Festival.
