Micromax Canvas XL vs Micromax Canvas Doodle 2: The big screen sibling wars
Micromax has been launching so many new devices every month. In every segment, one can find a huge variety of Micromax handsets that appear equally appealing. The company had earlier launched the Canvas Doodle 2 for Rs 19,990 but the same had its price dropped below Rs 15,000. Now Micromax has launched the Canvas XL for Rs 13,990 and both both of them will be battling it out for your attention.
New Delhi: So, we feel its time to compare some premium Micromax devices. Let us have a comparative look at the Micromax Canvas Doodle 2 and Micromax Canvas XL smartphones:
Built: The dimensions of the Micromax Canvas Doodle 2 are 161 x 82.5 x 8.9 mm and it weighs nearly 220 grams. On the other hand, the dimensions of the Micromax Canvas XL are 165 x 84.2 x 10.4 mm and it weighs about 180 grams.
Display: Canvas Doodle 2 features LCD IPS touch display of 5.7 inches with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Canvas XL sports an IPS touch display of 6 inches with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels.
Processor: Canvas Doodle 2 comes with a quad core processor of 1.2 GHz while Canvas XL has been equipped with a quad core processor of 1.3 GHz.
Software: Both the smartphones work on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean platform.
Memory: Both the devices offer 1 GB RAM. Canvas Doodle 2 comes with 16 GB inbuilt storage and no expandable storage feature. Canvas XL carries internal storage of 4 GB and up to 32 GB expandable memory.
Camera: Canvas Doodle 2 offers a rear camera of 12 MP with dual LED flash while Canvas XL comes with a rear camera of 8 MP with LED flash. Both the devices sport front facing shooter of 5 MP.
Connectivity Features: Both the smartphones offer connectivity features, such as Bluetooth with A2DP, Wi-Fi, GPS/ A-GPS and 3G.
Battery: Canvas Doodle 2 runs on a battery of 2600 mAh while Canvas XL runs on a battery of 2450 mAh.
Our Take: After comparing the two handsets, my verdict is in favor of Micromax Canvas Doodle 2 as it offers smaller but better display, more internal storage space, better camera and battery. And it costs about a Rs 1,000 more than XL, so the price difference is pretty much worth it.
