TRS Ticket Distribution: A Cause of Egony Seniors In The Party
With the deadline over for filing of nominations, the ticket distribution by TRS is over. But there is lot more dis-satisfaction and anger in local leaders for getting not getting tickets.
Hyderabad: TRS chief KCR completed ticket distribution for MLA & MP seats for the current elections. The Telangana state is going to elections on 30th April 2014 to elect 119 MLA & 17 MP seats.
KCR’s family got 3 MLA & 2 MP tickets. Majority of the remaining tickets were given to migrants from other parties (like congress, TDP etc). So many sitting MLA’s also could not get tickets this time. This is causing serious anger among the leaders who have stayed with the TRS party from the beginning.
KCR has been able to improve his hopes of winning Medak MP Seat by managing congress high command to shift Vijayashanti to MLA seat. Vijayashanti is the sitting MP from Medak and she was ‘advised’ to chose MLA seat rather than MP seat.
The dis-satisfaction among the TRS leaders is genuine for more than one reason. The recent entrants are able to grab tickets whereas the senior members were denied tickets on some ground or the other. The new entrants into TRS from other parties are lesser popular than the existing TRS leaders who have been working locally for the past so many years.
Another point of dis-satisfaction is that the quantum of tickets to various associations and leaders who have actively participated in the T-movement is much below the expectations. While congress could rectify its mistake by offering more tickets to movement leaders, TRS could not complete this task in time.
TRS’ act of lesser seats for movement leaders will send wrong signals to people of Telangana and this can have long lasting impact on the winning chances of TRS’ representatives.
Now that the last date for filing of nominations is over, TRS can’t do any more rectification process. It can only console the leaders (who have been denied tickets) promising that their interests will be taken care in future.
To pacify those unhappy TRS leaders and getting they involved in the coming elections (for respectable winning) is a tough task for KCR.
