Bajaj Pulsar 400CS and 400SS shown at Auto Expo 2014 – Engine and other specs adopted from KTM Duke 390?
One of the leading two wheeler manufacturers in the country, Bajaj has showcased two spectacular models at the Auto Expo 2014. ‘Pulsar’ has become the pulse of Indian youth and there is no surprise behind Bajaj bringing forward more and more variants of the series. Bajaj Pulsar 400CS and Pulsar 400 SS have been shown at the event and majority of visitors of the show fell in love with the two new breeds.
As we can see from the unit showcased at the Auto Expo, the model looks a lot similar to the test unit spotted a number of times prior to the event. But most of the people have considered the test mule to be of the new 200SS but actually it was a Pulsar 400SS test mule. With the exclusively new design, Bajaj Pulsar 400 SS and CS have stood among the show stealers at this year’s event and Bajaj has assured that both these model are going to be production variants. The aggressive look of the model is the most significant factor of the bike and the manufacturer is confident that both the models would be big hit in India.
Bajaj has dubbed the two new models as Pulsar 400 CS – Cruiser Sports and 400 SS – Super Sports respectively. Both the models look almost the same except few changes on the external body. The rear end gets split seat and Bajaj has placed the tail lamp on the mud guard for the first time. There an air vent to the bike placed beneath the fuel tank and a new head lamp design has been shown. Both the variants come powered with the same 4 valve 375CC liquid cooled single cylinder engine and the power outputs and other specs of the engine have not been revealed by the manufacturer yet.
The new Pulsar 400SS and 400CS are having disc brakes on the front as well as on the rear and they are also having ABS. The front suspension is taken care by telescopic forks aligned upside down whereas the rear wheel gets a mono suspension. Launch schedule, pricing details and other specs of the model are yet to be revealed and thus we must wait for few more months…
