Skoda Yeti Facelift launch at Delhi Auto Expo – 1.2L TDI to be used to tackle Renault Duster and Ford Eco Sport
We are just a few days away from the prestigious Delhi Auto Expo 2014 and almost all the leading automotive giants have announced about their launches at the show, except Skoda. Skoda has not revealed about any launch for this year’s show and to the surprise of all, Skoda has announced that a facelift edition of the reputed ‘Yeti’ SUV is going to be launched at the event. The manufacturer is strongly willing to show its existence in the SUV segment and is hoping a breakthrough with the grand new Yeti Facelift.
The official debut of the Yeti Facelift has already been made in the global market and it is already available for sale there. It took a few months for the model to step into the Indian market and for the first time ever, the new Yeti Facelift is going to be showcased in India at the Delhi Auto Expo. The model will sport a wide range of both cosmetic changes when compared with the former edition variant. The front fascia of the model will look mostly like the recently unveiled Superb sedan and Skoda is confident that it will attract the Indian buyers for sure.
The front bumper as well as the rear bumper are going to be painted with the same colour used for the body. The full alloy wheels adds to the elegance of the vehicle along with the body coloured rear panels. The side mouldings of the vehicle not only makes the vehicle look amazing but also increases the safety of the vehicle. The manufacturer has not revealed about the engine specifications of the Indian version of Yeti SUV so far. But the model is available with a 1.6 litre four cylinder TDI engine in the global markets and the engine is capable of delivering around 103 bhp at the peak.
Skoda is offering the brand new Yeti SUV with a choice of 2 wheel drive or a 4 wheel drive arrangement as per the need of the buyer. A top end version of the model is also available globally which comes fitted with a 2.0 litre TDI engine that will produce around 168 bhp at the peak. However, we must wait for a few days to find out the engine specs and pricing details of the Indian version Yeti Facelift SUV.
