Hyundai ix25 SUV launched at Beijing Auto Show – Fluidic Design to beat Ford Eco Sport and Renault Duster
Hyundai has finally revealed the most awaited ‘ix25’ Sports Utility Vehicle at the ongoing Beijing Auto Show today. The manufacturer has arranged special appearance of a reputed Chinese actor at Hyundai’s booth at the Auto Show but the event was delayed for few hours due to insufficient security measures. Huge crowd was present at Hyundai’s booth to see the respective actor and all of them criticised the manufacturer for cancelling the event. However, the event and launch were held after disperse of most of the people.
Commenting about the launch Mr. Sung Kee Choi, the President for Hyundai Motor has stated “Hyundai Motor has grown into a leading automaker in China through continuous innovation for the past 11 years. Hyundai Motor is now poised for a new challenge to become the most loved brand by Chinese customers, with high quality models such as the ix25 SUV, which is strategically developed for China, and the all new Genesis introduced today”. The new ix25 SUV measures around 4270 mm of length, 1780 mm width and 1630 mm of height along with a larger wheel base of around 2590mm.
Hyundai has used the advanced ‘Hyundai Fluidic Sculpture 2.0’ design strategy which was used for the first time with the Genesis coupe revealed last year. The front fascia of the model comes with a hexagonal shaped grille along with a set of LED head lights. The rear end gets a set of step type tail lights and the dual exhaust pipes have been integrated on the bumper itself. Power comes from a 2.0 litre petrol engine but the manufacturer has not yet revealed anything about the power output. Hyundai has targeted the younger side of the Chinese people with the launch of the new ix25 Sports Utility Vehicle.
With the addition of the new ix25, the Chinese portfolio of the manufacturer now consists of 4 Sports Utility Vehicles on a whole and the other three models are ix35, Santa Fe and the Grand Santa Fe respectively. As per the information, Hyundai is likely to make the new SUV available for sale in the Chinese market by the end of this year.
