Tata Bolt Spotted again – AMT on offer to beat Maruti Suzuki Swift, Ford Figo, Chevrolet Beat and Hyundai i20
The Native Indian automotive giant Tata Motors is currently struggling very hard to exist in some segments of the Indian market. The manufacturer don’t have any effective models in the hatch back segment as well as in the entry level sedan segments currently. The former players of Tata such as Vista and Manza have become older and it is very hard for them to survive in respective segments due to heavy competition. However, Tata Motors is going to launch successors of both these models in the form of ‘Bolt’ and ‘Zest’ very soon.
Tata Motors has displayed the Bolt hatch back and the Zest sedan at the Delhi Auto Expo 2014 which was held in the month of February this year. We are having encounters with test mules of both these upcoming models very frequently and once again, a test mule of the Bolt hatch back has been spotted. This time, the respective test mule was spotted near Bikaner, a historical city in the state of Rajasthan. The test mule was wearing heavy camouflage on its body and yet we are able to have a glimpse at some parts of the vehicle. However, we can expect the hatch back to get launched by the end of this October mostly.
Though the base structure of the upcoming Bolt hatch back has been inspired from the current gen Vista, the manufacturer has revised the chassis completely. Each and every part of the hatch back is being carved so carefully as Tata Motor is strongly willing to give a tough fight for other leading models in the segment such as Maruti Suzuki Swift, Celerio, Chevrolet Beat, Ford Figo, Hyundai Grand i10 and i20 etc. In order to tackle Maruti’s Celerio, Tata s likely to offer Auto Manual Transmission gear box with the Bolt sedan most probably.
Petrol version of the Bolt hatch back comes powered with a 1.2 litre turbo charged four cylinder engine that could produce around 85 PS power at the peak along with 140 Nm of torque. The diesel variant of the hatch back adopts the Fiat sourced 1.3 litre Quadrajet engne that could produce around 75 PS power along with 190 Nm of torque at the peak. Tata is going to offer 5 speed manual transmission gear box for the base variants of both petrol and diesel versions but there may also be a choice of availing AMT for the Indian buyers.
