Ford reveals ‘KA’ aka Figo hatch back launched in Brazil – Indian edition with 1.0L Ecoboost launch in 2015?
Ford has launched the brand new edition of the Figo hatch back in the Brazilian market and it has been into the market as ‘KA’. The manufacturer is expecting a breakthrough in Brazilian market this year with the launch of the new KA prior to the ‘Foot Ball World Cup’. The model was displayed as a concept in the month of November last year and now, production ready version of the model has been unveiled.
The manufacturer has revised the exterior of the new KA hatch back when compared with the formed edition of the model. The Brazilian market also gets the sedan version of the Figo which is absent in the Indian market. As per the information, Ford is likely to commence the sales of New KA hatch back from this July, after the completion of the Football World Cup matches. The production ready KA gets a new set of head lights along with a revised grille. There are very few changes among the Concept displayed last year and the production ready version revealed now.
Brand new Figo hatchback concept has been displayed at this year’s Delhi Auto Expo held at Greater Noida in the month of February. The Brazilian edition of the new FIgo hatch back aka KA hatch back gets powered with a 1.0 litre three cylinder naturally aspirated engine that is capable of generating around 85 bhp at the peak along with 10.7 kgm of torque very comfortably. The engine comes accompanied with a 5 speed manual transmission gear box as standard and there is no other choice available for the buyer.
The Indian edition of the next gen Figo is expected to get powered with a 1.5 litre TDCi diesel engine that is capable of generating around 89 bhp at the peak along with 204 Nm of torque. The petrol version of the model may get powered with a 1.0 litre Eco Boost engine most probably and there is also probability for equipping the model with a 1.2 litre petrol engine. As per the information, the new Ka hatch back delivers around 8.9 kmpl and 13 kmpl respectively with ethanol and petrol when driven in urban conditions. When it comes to the extra urban conditions, the hatch back delivers around 10.4 kmpl and 15.1kmpl respectively.
